Kingston boasts an annual influx of over 20,000 students making the city their home every September to May. Contrary to the recent media coverage Kingston has gained as too much of a university party town, the students breathe life into our community as they have done for the past 165+ years.

Queen´s University with over 15,000 full-time students is in the ivy-league of Canadian universities. It is home to over 30 laboratories conducting R&D in the areas of fuel cells, alternative energies, robotics, cancer research, and biotechnology. In addition, Queen's is home to top-ranked business and medical schools.
The Royal Military College has been educating and training officer cadets and commissioned officers for careers in the Canadian armed forces for over 100 years. This prestigious military university is rated 2nd amoung all smaller Canadian universities for reasearch. With access to state-of-the-art technology, faculty and students are conduting research in fields such as space surveillance, environmental science and advanced engineering materials.
St. Lawrence College with 5,000 full-time and 6,500 part-time students offers more than 70 academic programs in applied arts, business, engineering technology, health sciences and skilled trades to feed local and regional business with well-trained talent. The college enjoys a graduate employment rate of 91 percent. For six consecutive years, it has ranked among the top four community colleges provincially.
The Canadian Forces School of Communications and Electronics provides basic, intermediate and advanced training to military personnel employed in the field of Communications and Electronics. The School has been part of the Kingston community for 65 years, and employs approximately 220 military and civilian personnel.
