Arts & Culture

Kingston has a vibrant cultural scene that encompasses visual arts, theatre, literature, history, and music. Numerous grassroots groups and organizations collaborate on strengthening and reinventing Kingston’s cultural landscape, ensuring that the maker community continues to thrive. Organizations like the Kingston Arts Council and the Kingston Association of Museums as well as the City of Kingston support local creators and events throughout the year.

Performing Arts

Kingston has several theatre companies, a symphony, a downtown entertainment venue, and one independent movie theatre. Kingston’s theatre scene is diverse and local companies produce plays and musicals throughout the year, ensuring that there is always something going on.
