Kingston is home to two English and two French school boards offering Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12/IB classes:

The Limestone District School Board is a non-denominational board which serves over 19,000 students at its 55 schools and 5 alternative education centres; 14 of which offer French immersion. The LSDB also administers the Limestone School of Community Education.

Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board serves over 12,800 students in its elementary, secondary, and special adult retraining / life skills programs.  Several ALCDSB schools offer early and late French immersion programs.

The Conseil des Écoles Catholiques du Centre-Est oversees all French Catholic schools in Eastern Ontario. The CECCE operates 45 elementary schools, 13 high schools and a school for adults.[6] Over 26,000 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12 are registered at CECCE schools.

The Conseil des Écoles Publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario oversees French public schools for children from junior kindergarten to grade 12. The CEPEO operates 44 schools and oversees education in the French language for over 17,000 students in Eastern Ontario.

In addition to the public boards, there are numerous private schools in Kingston that cater to various spiritual and educational needs. Many of these facilities are able to offer smaller classroom sizes and specialized programs:
